Trust God's story
The Word of the Lord plays a crucial role in our faith formation, discipleship, missiology, and culture (2 Timothy 3:16).
The Bible is and remains the standard for our faith and life, and therefore we will always ask: What does the Bible say?
We want to align our entire lives and everything we do at KDTA according to the Word of the Lord.
It is important for us to remain faithful to the Word of the Lord even as we strive to be relevant within our context.
Authentic worship
Worship is more than a song we sing.
Worship is the entire way we live to please God in everything.
At KDTA, we want to give an answer to God’s call – He is seeking people who will worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23).
…authentic worship is a matter of the heart. it is rehearsing and remembering the story of God and redemptively connecting His story with our own.
audacious love
We commit ourselves to love God, each other, and others. Of course, God above all and everyone else!
To be a disciple of Jesus cannot happen without love (Luke 10:27; John 13:35).
We remind ourselves that Jesus declared that the world will recognize that we are His disciples through our love (John 13:35).
radical hospitality
Our love for all people finds expression in our hospitality (Rom. 12:13; 1 Pet. 4:9; Heb. 13:2).
Through this hospitality, we want to practice the attitude that is characterized by considering someone else’s comfort and convenience as more important than our own.
It means being willing not only to look after our own interests but also the interests of others (Phil. 2:3-5).
include others
It is not possible to despise someone and reach them.
God excludes no one, neither do we (John 3:16; Acts 2:21, Rom. 2:11).
This inclusivity aligns us with Christ’s mission because He came to seek and save all who are lost (Luke 19:10).
People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care
make disciples
It is non-negotiable!
Furthermore, it is to be faithful to who we are; who our name says we are: Koinonia Discipleship Training Academy.
We unconditionally obey the great commission that must encompass everything we do or plan to do – Matt. 28:19. Period!
Here at KDTA we say that discipleship means that someone obeys Jesus’ command to accompany Him, and as a disciple/follower of Jesus Christ, makes His lifestyle his/her own.
serve the community
We commit ourselves to sacrificial servanthood (Gal. 5:13; Phil. 2:4-5; James 1:27; 1 Pet. 4:10; Heb. 6:10).
We understand that servant leadership – as we have the example of Jesus – requires us to be actively involved in our community.
We truly want to be salt and light.
We want Jesus to make the difference through us in our community.
We don’t want to threaten each other with how we’ll make a difference for the Lord someday, we want to do it!
